oreo: social
Oreo was a longer social media campaign at Hornet under directors Benjy Brooke and Jimmy Simpson. Since these were six-second spots with short schedules (usually 2 weeks), many of them were handled by one person start to finish. I designed, animated, and composited over ten of them, and filled in on design and animation roles as needed on others. My favourite aspect of commercial work is getting to jump around from role to role, and I especially love when I’m involved in a spot from start to finish. Pitching designs and boards, jumping straight into animation, comping it all together, and deciding the tone and methodology in such a fast-paced, bite-sized spot was exhilarating. Designing for 3 aspect ratios—-16:9, 9:16, and 4:5—at the same time was an interesting challenge as well, and one I’ve had to plan for more and more!
